Visa

France is part of the Schengen Area of 26 European countries.

In general, participants (non-EU and visa-exempt) must apply for a Visa C (short stay, valid for the Schengen area).
Citizens of the European Union and nationals of Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are exempt from this procedure.
Canadians and Americans alike.

The turnaround time may vary depending on the country (30-60 days) and personal procedure is neccessary. It is therefore recommended to start the process as soon as possible.

The following documents are usually required:

  • Valid passport
  • Flight ticket confirmation (proof of purchase)
  • Hotel reservation confirmation
  • Conference registration confirmation – paid
  • Travel Insurance
  • Bank account
  • Certificate from the institute / company specifying that you are an employee
  • Invitation letter containing the following information:
    • Name as written in your passport
    • Address
    • Date and place of birth
    • Passport number and expiry

In all cases, please first contact the Embassy (or consult the website mentioned above) and and ask for the list of required documents.

Please note that the Conference Secretariat can send invitation letters/documents upon request ONLY to registered participants, after all prepayments have been made (see procedure below).

In the event that a visa is not obtained and leads to non-participation in the conference, a refund of the registration fee may be granted, on presentation of supporting documents, with a deduction of EUR 150 for administrative costs.

Acceptance and Invitation Letters

The conference secretariat will issue acceptance and/or invitation letters for visa applications upon request.

Please carefully follow the procedure detailed below:

  • Following your needs, download the corresponding PDF files:
  • Fill in the required fields with your personnal information.
  • Send an email to enoc2020-visa@sciencesconf.org  with the following attachments:
    • the completed pdf files
    • a proof of payment of the conference registration fees if you request an invitation letter
  • Letters signed by the chairman of the conference will be sent back to you by email.

The invitation does not constitute a commitment to provide any financial support for travelling and living expenses.
